Auto Process Control II (APCII)

The Hockmeyer Auto Process II system (APC II) consists of two main components; Explosion Proof (NEMA 7) Push button station located at the machine, and the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) with support components in a general purpose (NEMA 1) cabinet connected to a NEMA 1 variable frequency drive (VFD) located in a safe, non-explosion proof, area. Your contractor in accordance with Hockmeyer provided schematics wires the two assemblies together on site.

The X-P push button station contains a backlit four line display that indicates power draw, batch temperature, elapsed batch time, total cumulative work hours, and mill speed. Parameters for temperature set points and timers are set at the push button station. APC II allows these presets to activate the high temperature warning light, auto slow down to allow cooling the batch, and auto shut down when temperature limit is exceeded, when the “Water” selector switch is set to “Auto”. Other features on the PBS are: start/stop/jog push buttons, hoist on/off, e-stop, and speed potentiometer.
